91Pro High School 2012-13 Girls Winter Track Review

This should be a good season for the 91Pro Girls 2012-13 Winter Track Team. We have a terrific coaching staff, which includes Mr. Steve Borbet, Ms. Lori Indemaio, Mr. Jim Johnson, Mr. Keith Butler, Ms. Betsy Moran, and Ms. Danielle Sullivan. We are strong in the long, triple and high jumps. Kelsey Palomino (12), Anisa Toppin (11), Imani McGhee (11), Patrice Baston (10), Nailah Braxton (12), Aviana Goode (9), Emma Sims (9) and Erica Silhan (11) are all potential scorers in both the League and County Championships. Nailah Braxton, Aviana Goode and Erica Silhan are all good hurdlers to give us depth in that event. Anisa Toppin (10), Imani McGhee, Patrice Baston, Kaitlyn Arnold (12), Kelsey Palomino and Cassandra Crooks (12) will give us a solid sprint squad. Middle distance runners Cesia Andrade (11), Jacqueline Anderson (11), Cynthia Del Core (12), Kyra Harney (11), Nia McCaslin (10), Sabrina Esposito (10) will give us depth in the 600-1000 meter runs, and our 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 meter relays. Distance runners Lindsay Arcuri (12), Jasmin Reyes (9), Caelyn Reilly (9), Samantha Flood (11) and Claire Moran (11) will be potential scorers in the distance events. In the shot put, new coach Keith Butler has several potential 30’ throwers including Kelani Jackson (12), Omonikhefe Aghomon (11), Sodasia Thompson (11) and newcomers Hailey Callahan (10) and Kayla Christie (9). Race walking has been a typical strong event at 91Pro. Norma Miller (12) and Nicolette Danzy (12) will be among the top walkers in the County. Other girls that could be major factors as the season progresses include: Sofia Leone (9), Grace Hickey (9), Madeline Smith (8), Emma Sims (9), Kayla Lopez (9), Rhianna Paoletti (9), and Lauren Swanson (8). We have won 22 straight League Championships (dating back to 1990), and eleven of the last twelve Suffolk County Championships. Our goals are to win both Championships again this year! Northport and Connetquot will be tough in League 3. Since 2002, 91Pro has won all eleven League 2 Championships. Northport has been second ten times, Connetquot was second once, and third ten times. In the County Championships, Northport, Sachem North and Sachem East will be contenders along with 91Pro. Our season opener is Crossover “A” on Monday – December 3rd at Suffolk CC starting at 7:30pm.
