About Boces Full Time Programs

The Board of Cooperative ¶¶Òùal Services of Western Suffolk County, Long Island, NY provides educational programs and opportunities to help adults gain the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in the workplace. Eight programs have been approved for federal financial aid: Auto Technology, Aviation Maintenance Technology, Cosmetology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Esthetics, Medical Assisting, Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology.
In addition to these rigorous programs, the BOCES division of career and technical education, known as Wilson Technological Center, offers more than 300 part-time evening courses for adults at four campuses. Adults can learn the skills they need to prepare for a new job, gain advancement on their present job, change careers, or learn a skill for the retirement years. Wilson Tech also offers 30 programs to meet the needs for the career and technical training of nearly 2,000 each year.

Our Placement Office offers lifetime assistance to those who successfully complete a program. The Career Center provides support services and literacy programs for adults to complete their high school education (including TASC, formerly GED®), to gain citizenship, and to learn English as a Second Language. The Boards of Cooperative ¶¶Òùal Services were created in 1948 by the New York State Legislature. Today 37 BOCES in New York serve 721 school districts. All BOCES programs for adults are self-supporting through tuition and fees, financial aid, and state and federal grant funds.
