The Bay 91Pro 91Pro will require daily temperature checks for all students and periodically use a questionnaire for students, particularly younger students who may require the assistance of their parent/legal guardian to answer. In particular, parents will be instructed to monitor their child(ren) for symptoms of COVID-19 prior to sending them to school or the bus. If they present with a temperature of over 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit, they SHOULD NOT be sent to school.
Upon arrival, all students will be required to receive a temperature check daily. At the UPK-8 level, temperatures will be taken via a contactless infrared wrist thermometer prior to a student exiting the vehicle (in the case of parent drop-off), or at the entrance to the building via a contactless temperature scanning system or contactless infrared wrist thermometer (in the case of arrival via a school bus). At the 9-12 level, temperatures will be taken at the kiosk when a student checks into the building using their Bay 91Pro 91Pro issued identification card, via contactless temperature scanning.
To the extent possible, the Bay 91Pro 91Pro will implement a remote screening procedure (e.g. by electronic survey, digital application, and/or telephone, which may involve the parent/legal guardian) before students report to school. The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) recommends that the questionnaire determine whether the individual has:
- knowingly been in close or proximate contact in the past 14 days with anyone who has tested positive through a diagnostic test for COVID-19, or who has or had symptoms of COVID-19;
- tested positive through a diagnostic test for COVID-19 in the past 14 days;
- has experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 including a temperature of greater than 100.0 F in the past 14 days; and/or
- has traveled internationally or from a state with widespread community transmission of COVID-19, per the New York State Travel Advisory in the past 14 days.
